Mozambique Support Network
Chicago, Illinois, United States
Undated, 1988?
2 pages
The Mozambique Support Network was formed as a result of a September 1987 meeting in Washington, D.C. of 18 people from seven states. This document outlines the purposes of the organization. It also discusses earlier support in the U.S. for Frelimo before Mozambique's independence, such as from the African Liberation Support Committee (ALSC) and the Committee for a Free Mozambique. Lobbying by right-wing organizations in the U.S. for the Mozambique National Resistance (MNR - or Renamo) beginning in 1987 is another reason that support for Mozambique is needed.
