This report briefly describes atrocities committed by Renamo and then discusses Renamo's origins in Rhodesia and its subsequent support from South Africa. It identifies Renamo's U.S. support, which comes largely from private right-wing people and organizations such as the Heritage Foundation, Thomas Schaaf, Pat Robertson, Ian Grey, Pat Buchanan, Soldier of Fortune magazine, Freedom Inc, Freedom Research Foundation, the Christian Emergency Relief Team, and Americans for Tax Reform.
