She also is active in the Organization of Mozambican Women. Her book, Dumba Nengue, Run for Your Life: Peasant Tales of Tragedy in Mozambique, recounts the atrocities suffered by the people at the hand of the South Africa-backed Renamo (or Movement of National Resistance).
