Champaign-Urbana Coalition Against Apartheid
Urbana, Illinois, United States
4 pages
Pamphlet used to raise material aid for the Francisco Manyanga High School in Maputo, Mozambique. The pamphlet says that, when the Mozambique liberation Front (FRELIMO) took power in 1975, it worked hard to create a new, democratic school system. Since 1980, these gains in education have been under constant attack from a South African-backed terrorist group, the Mozambique National Resistance (MNR, also known as Renamo). • If You Can't Kill Freedom Try Burning Books • Education and Democracy: Two Allies Under Attack • Education Threatens Apartheid • Francisco Manyanga High School • Support for Mozambique's Education Program: A Call for Action
