While the U.S. decision to recognize the Angolan government is seen as good news, the war continues. Mailing includes a four-page excerpt from a report by FAO/WFP (Food and Agriculture Organization / World Food Program) concerning the food situation in Angola. The report notes that "a large section of Angola's population will be vulnerable to famine in the year ahead." The mailing also includes the article "Clinton, Chaos, and Cholera" printed May 22, 1993 in the Guardian (London).
