This funding appeal reports on the decision of the Board of Directors to expand the focus of the organization to include such issues as ending U.S. support for corrupt African dictators and for economic policies that entrench poverty and inequality. One new campaign is about Zaire; the mailing includes the Executive Summary of the "Zaire: A Nation Held Hostage" campaign and a list of organizational endorsers. The Office also will be working on the drought in Southern Africa and on Malawi, while it continues to be concerned about violence and repression in South Africa.
