Letter to members of the House of Representatives urging them not to prematurely lift or modify economic sanctions against South Africa because the de Klerk regime has fallen far short of full compliance with the provisions of the Comprehensive Anti-Apartheid Act of 1986. The letter discusses the political situation in South Africa and argues that lifting sanctions now would be seen as an "endorsement of the apartheid regime's continued equivocation and a slap in the face to advocates of a non-racial democracy."
