Copy of a November 24, 1980 letter to The Rev. Prof. G. S. Wilmore from Bishop Desmond Tutu, General Secretary of the South African Council of Churches, about a proposed visit to South Africa by a delegation from Rochester organized by the Genesee Ecumenical Ministries. Tutu thanks Wilmore for his love and prayerful concern and says that his ministry is not restricted to public addresses but that two meetings in Port Elizabeth were banned. Tutu says Francois Bill has done a tremendous amount of organizing and that they were disappointed when the visit did not happen. • Die Suid-Afrikaanse Raad Van Kerke [Note: This copy in not on letterhead and most likely was mailed out in Rochester.]
