Description

This letter explains that the Task Force has responded to request of the major anti-apartheid and religious organizations to support comprehensive economic sanctions against the apartheid regime. The Task Force has lobbied the U.S. government towards this end and encourages religions congregations, pension funds, and city and state governments to divest their holdings in companies doing business with South Africa. The Task Force has worked on behalf of South African political prisoners and also has opposed apartheid violence in the Front Line States, especially Namibia, Mozambique and Angola.
