A resource for worship services to commemorate the Soweto student uprising. It includes a litany, pledge of commitment, prayer of thanksgiving, and closing prayer. The pledge of commitment, adapted from a resource by the Southern Africa Network of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, focuses on speaking truth about apartheid; offering support to people of South Africa; fighting racism, sexism and economic injustices in the U.S.; and challenging our social and political structures to convey to the South African government that apartheid is not to be tolerated.
