The American Committee on Africa announces that it is opening an office in Washington, D.C., to be director by Gary Gappert, who recently lived in Tanzania. The office will focus on U.S. government policy, particularly regarding Southern Africa, will host African visitors in Washington, and will organize conferences and seminars.
