This legislative update reports on efforts underway in Congress to enact various economic sanctions against the Angolan government and to renew U.S. aid to UNITA after the Clark Amendment prohibiting such assistance was repealed in July 1985. It also discusses U.S. aid to UNITA that already is underway and UNITA President Jonas Savimbi's recent lobbying trip to Washington, which included a meeting with President Reagan.
