The Gulf Boycott Coalition (GBC), formed on July 4, 1971 in Dayton, Ohio, has organized support for a boycott of Gulf Oil Corporation in over 40 U.S. cities. President Nixon has embraced minority white regimes, Britain and the U.S. have encouraged Rhodesian white rule, U.S. foreign aid supports the Portuguese economy allowing them to fight an expensive war, and the United Nations can do little more than issue pronouncements. Five years after the Angolan revolution began, Gulf started a $150 million oil operation there--75% of total US investments in Angola.
