This leaflet was produced as part of a campaign to boycott Allegría and other Portuguese wines. Producers of Allegria selected Ithaca, New York and Madison, Wisconsin (both of which have large student populations) as target areas to promote Allegria and test its popularity in the United States. The leaflet urges a boycott of the wine to protest Portugal's repression of the liberation movements in Angola, Mozambique, and the now independent state of Guinea Bissau. Printed by Glad Day Press. [Note: As part of the introduction of Allegría wine there was extensive advertising and phone survey. Groups involved in the boycott campaign in Ithaca included the Attica Brigade, African Students Association, African Liberation Solidarity Committee, Southern African Liberation Committee, and the Rest of the News. The Rest of the News, an alternative radio program on WVBR, produced shows on Portuguese colonialism and a counter-commercial against Allegria and Portuguese colonialism.
