This letter explains the purpose of ACCESS, which is to isolate South African in sport through coordinated activities in many countries. ACCESS is reaching out to community groups to build a regional network, beyond its national organizational supporters. Statements supporting ACCESS by the American Committee on Africa and American Friends Service Committee are enclosed, along with a New York Times article about protests to South African participation in tennis events at Wimbledon. [An ACCESS press release and "Sports Apartheid in 1977: News Names for Old Games" also were included in this mailing. These are available separately on this website.]
