A model resolution for public bodies calling for the immediate release of all people detained and imprisoned in South Africa and Namibia under South Africa's security legislation and other repressive state regulations. The resolution says the white minority government indiscriminately detains opponents of apartheid without charge or trial and cites the statement by the National Medical and Dental Association of South Africa that an estimated 83% of those detained have experienced some form of torture. This document was part of the Unlock Apartheid's Jails campaign in the U.S. [Note: Other materials in this campaign are included on this website.]
