A charter statement for the organization states that Africa is one of the principal areas of struggle between the world-wide forces of national liberation and those of imperialism and neocolonialism and that Africa has special significance to Black Americans because of their own parallel struggle for liberation in the U.S. The group has begun an educational program about the need to support African people's liberation struggle.
