Richard Knight of The Africa Fund interviewed on a call-in show hosted by Tom Clark. The interview was in response to a speech by South African President F.W. De Klerk at the opening of Parliament on February 2, 1990 when he announced that the bans of the African National Congress (ANC), the Pan Africanist Congress (PAC), the South African Communist Party (SACP) and a number of subsidiary organizations were being rescinded and that at some point Nelson Mandela would be released.
