Picket of some 500 people at the Dutch-owned ship Ned Lloyd Kimberly at Pier 27 in San Francisco in support of a boycott of South Africa. Many of the longshore workers, members of the International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU) Local 10, refused to cross the picket line; as a result the cargo from South Africa could not be unloaded that day.
