Picket at Pier 27 in San Francisco where the Dutch-owned boat, the Ned Lloyd Kimberly was docked, some 500 people formed a picket line. About half of the longshore workers, member of the International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU) Local 10 dispatched to the shop refused to cross the picket line so the cargo could not be worked during the day.
