BOYCOTT SOUTH AFRICAN CARGO

The Dutch-owned boat Ned Lloyd Kimberby was docketed at San Francisco Pier 27 with cargo from South Africa. At 7:30 AM some 500 people formed a picket line. About half of the longshore workers dispatched to unload the boat, members of Local 10 of the International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU), refused to cross the picket line so the cargo was not unloaded that day.
