The Coalition for a Free South Africa and Namibia (CAFSAN) campaigned against South Africa's illegal occupation of Namibia and for Namibia independence. CAFSAN also campaigned against apartheid in South Africa. CAFSAN supported sanctions against South Africa and opposed the Sullivan Principles. A representative of the CAFSAN attended the North American Regional Conference for Action Against Apartheid in December 1982 and a representative attended the North American Regional Conference for Action Against Apartheid at the United Nations in June 1984. Most members were South Africa, Namibian or African Americans.
