The Alternative Fund for Occidental Investment (AFOCI) was established by alumni and the graduating class of 1986 at Occidental College to accept donations from students. faculty, alumni and friends of the college to invest funds in a socially responsible manner. Because the Occidental community considered apartheid the worst case of institutional injustice, it did not invest in companies doing business in South Africa.
