United People's Campaign Against Apartheid and Racism (UPCAAR) organized on Southern Africa and issues of racism in the U.S. UPCAAR subsumed the Coalition to Stop the Rhodesian and South African Imports. It organized a number of groups in Philadelphia to participate in a national speaking tour of representatives of SWAPO and the South African Military Refugee Aid Fund in 1980. UPCAAR was an affiliate starting in the late 1970s of the national Campaign to Oppose Bank Loans to South Africa which campaign against U.S. banks making loans to South Africa and racist practices in the U.S. (Source: various UPCAAR documents on this website.)
