Stockholders for Majority Rule in Southern Africa was an initiative of donors to the Haymarket People's Fund of Boston, Massachusetts, a fund dedicated to supporting social justice organizations in New England. Stockholders for Majority Rule in Southern Africa members were people from families with wealth to reach out to others asking them to join the growing efforts to divest from South Africa. It was inspired by a concert the Haymarket People's Fund sponsored in Boston in 1979 held to raise funds for humanitarian aid to liberation efforts in Southern Africa.
