The Committee for a Free Mozambique (CFM) was established in 1970 to support the struggle of FRELIMO for independence from Portugal. It published a newsletter, "CFM News and Notes," that provided information about developments in Africa (especially Mozambique), Portugal, and the United Nations, as well as about solidarity activities in the U.S. The Committee also published a pamphlet, a button, and a poster. The Committee held and took part in meetings and demonstrations and provided financial support to maintain the FRELIMO office in the U.S.
