Berea College Students United Against Apartheid

Berea College Students United Against Apartheid, a student group at Berea College, was founded on September 12, 1979 at an event commemorating the assassination of Steve Biko. The keynote speaker at the founding event was Nontombi Tutu, daughter of Archbishop Desmond Tutu. Berea College Students United Against Apartheid activities focused on raising material support for the national liberation movements in South Africa, Namibia and Zimbabwe. The organization also educated Berea College students, staff and professors about the struggles against apartheid and racist minority rule in Southern Africa.
