The Student Committee Against Apartheid was an organization at Stockton State College. The committee campaigned for divestment from companies doing business in South Africa. In February 1983 it organized a week of activities that included films, representatives of the ANC (African National Congress), and the South African play "For Better Not For Worse." On March 8, 1983, to mark International Women's Day, it organized a "Salute To Winnie Mandela," and it held a poster contest commemorated the March 21, 1960 Sharpeville Massacre. The committee opposed the opening of a South African-owned casino in Atlantic City.
