Missourians Against Apartheid (MAA) was a coalition came out of a 1985 meeting on trade unionists, students and fraternity members to discuss ways to get the University of Missouri to divest from companies doing business in South Africa. MAA included students from Columbia, Rolla, St. Louis and Kansas City campuses. MAA was a sponsor of the Midwest Student Conference Against Apartheid and Racism at the University of Chicago in November 1985. MAA successful campaigned to get the cities of St. Louis and Kansas City and the state of Missouri governments to divest from companies doing business in South Africa.
