Bread for the World is a collective Christian voice urging our nation's decisions makers to end hunger at home and abroad. Moved by God's grace in Jesus Christ, it advocates for a world without hunger. Bread works in partnership with churches, campuses, and other organizations to mobilize Christians and others in congressional districts and states. Members of Bread for the world contacts members of Congress in various was about legislation that addresses hunger in the U.S. and around the world. In 1992 the organization campaign against the lifting of state sanctions against apartheid South Africa. Bread for the World was a sponsor of the Africa Peace Tour organized by the Africa Peace Committee in 1986 and 1999 and perhaps other years.
