On 7 January 1987, the Cubans established the Cuban Anti-Apartheid Committee (CAAC), to coincide with the 75th anniversary of the African National Congress (ANC). Work of forming CAAC began in 1986. CAAC worked with other anti-apartheid organizations in other countries. (Source:
