The MIT-Wellesley Coalition Against Apartheid campaigned to have the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) withdraw investments from banks making loans to South Africa and divest from corporations operating in South Africa. The MIT-Wellesley Coalition Against Apartheid collected over 1,000 signatures on a petition calling for MIT to divest from stocks in corporations with investments in South Africa. The MIT-Wellesley Coalition Against Apartheid sponsored speakers and showed movies to inform the MIT community about apartheid and conditions in South Africa.
