Davidson Students Against Apartheid was a student group at Davidson College that campaigned to get the college to divest from companies doing business in South Africa. The first act of Davidson Students Against Apartheid was to build shanties on the lawn of Chambers Building, one of the mail buildings on the Davidson College campus. During the 1986-1987, 1987-1988 and 1988-1989 school years Davidson Students Against Apartheid held teach-ins and put up posters about the situation in South Africa and calling for Davidson College to divest from companies doing business in South Africa. In October 1988 Davidson Students Against Apartheid, Charlotteans for a Free Southern Africa and Davidson Alumni Against Apartheid organized a Teach-In as part of the campaign to get Davidson College to divest.
