The 8th Day Center for Justice was involved in various anti-apartheid activities. The 8th Day Center for Justice was a member of the Chicago Coalition on Southern Africa, formed about 1977, that was involved in the campaign against banks making loans to South Africa. In the early 1990s the 8th Day Center for Justice was a sponsor of the Chicago Alexandra Sister Community Project along with the Committee in Solidarity with Southern Africa and Synapses. For many years the 8th Day Center for Justice has organized the Good Friday Walk for Justice; in the late 1980s and early 1990s the walks included a focus on South Africa. In March 1979 Charles W. Dahm of the 8th Day Center for Justice wrote a letter to the Chicago Tribune about a whites only referendum in Rhodesia (Zimbabwe).
