Minnesotans Against Apartheid

Minnesotans Against Apartheid was formed in 1984 or 1985 and organized protests and forums. Mel Reeves was one of the founders of the group, as part of his work at the time at Clergy and Laity Concerned (CALC). Minnesotans Against Apartheid hosted an event featuring Fred Dube of the African National Congress (ANC). It participated in the anti-Krugerrand campaign and worked with University of Minnesota students on a campaign to get the University to divest from companies doing business in South Africa. Minnesotans Against Apartheid worked closely with the American Committee on Africa. (Source: Mel Reeves)
