The Seattle Coalition in Solidarity with Black South African Resistance was an anti-apartheid organization that organized pickets and demonstration at the residence of South African Consul Mr. J. F. Swing. The Seattle Coalition in Solidarity with Black South African Resistance demanded that the City of Seattle take steps to close down the business of the South African Consulate and for the City of Seattle to adopt legislation similar to legislation adopted by other cities which would uphold international sanctions against South Africa including banning the sales of the Krugerrand gold coin, end the promotion of tourism and complete divestment by corporate, universities and banking interests in the City of Seattle.
