The Williams Anti-Apartheid Coalition was a student group at Williams College that campaigned to get the university to divest from companies doing business in South Africa. In October 1980 the Williams Anti-Apartheid Coalition organized a petition drive focusing on getting the college to divest from Newmont Mining Company because of its operations in Namibia. The Williams Anti-Apartheid Coalition raised money and material aid in support of South Africa and Namibia refugees. (Source:
