A major focus of S.A.S.C.'s work was the Zimbabwe Action Campaign, formed in September 1979 out of a conference on Southern Africa. S.A.S.C. supported the liberation movements of Southern Africa including FRELIMO in Mozambique, MPLA in Angola, the Patriotic Front in Zimbabwe and SWAPO in Namibia. S.A.S.C. worked to build mass based support for the liberation of Southern Africa and to further the development of the anti-racist, anti-imperialist forces in the U.S. (Source: S.A.S.C. document dated February 5, 1980 available on this website.)
