The New Castle County Coalition for Divestment from South Africa was formed around a successful effort to get New Castle County to pass legislation divesting the county from companies doing business in South Africa. The New Castle County Council passed a divestment ordinance supported by the Coalition on January 28, 1986. The New Castle County Coalition for Divestment from South Africa was made up of local organizations and individuals, including: the NAACP, Wilmington Chapter; Pacem in Terris; Hispanic Coalition of Del; Rev. Robert Moore, Executive Presbyter, New Castle Presbytery; Right Rev.
