Student Committee Against Apartheid (Stockton State College)

The Student Committee Against Apartheid was an organization at Stockton State College. The committee campaigned for divestment from companies doing business in South Africa. In February 1983 it organized a week of activities that included films, representatives of the ANC (African National Congress) and the South African play "For Better Not For Worse". On March 8, 1983 to mark International Women's Day it organized a "Salute To Winnie Mandela". The committee held a poster contest commemorated the March 21, 1960 Sharpeville Massacre. The committee opposed the opening of a South African owned casino in Atlantic City.
