The Committee of Concerned Citizens on Mercenary Activities was organized in May 1979 with the purpose of exposing the widespread murders, assassinations and other forms of brutality committed by United States mercenaries, and with the goal of ensuring that the United States government stop turning a blind eye to these activities. The organization continued to operate for about three years.
