The Committee to Support the Patriotic Front of Zimbabwe was formed in January 1980. It was an ad hoc committee of over 30 community groups and support organizations in the greater New York area. The main activity of the organization was the organization of an emergency conference to raise funds for the Patriotic Front (ZANU and ZAPU) that was contesting Zimbabwe's independence election in February 27-29, 1980.
