The Committee of Concerned Blacks was formed by Louise Meriwether to dissuade prominent Afro-Americans from lending their prestige and their image to racist causes. The Committee of Concerned Blacks campaigned to discourage Blacks from accepting invitations to visit South Africa. The organization changed its name to Back Concern in 1972.
