The mailing discusses the purpose of the shanty at the Administration Building on the MSU campus and invites organizations to join the coalition and help staff the shanty. The shanty is aimed at persuading the MSU Foundation to take divestment action at their December 11 meeting and the MSU Trustees at their December 12 meeting to send the Resolution to the Foundation instructing them to take this action. The mailing says Coalition members to date include: Associated Students of Michigan State University (ASMSU), Coalition Against Racism and Apartheid on Campus (CARAC), the Committee for Education on Latin America, Democratic Socialists of America, the East Lansing Peace Education Center, the General Union of the Palestinians, the Middle East Awareness Committee, MSU Great Issues, MSU NAACP, the Office of Black Affairs, Phi Beta Sigma, RHA, and the Southern Africa Liberation Committee (SALC).
