The newsletter reports four years ago the International Olympic Committee ousted South Africa from the Olympic Games; this year Rhodesia was also ousted. The newsletter says five members of MACSA attended the 2nd National Conference of the North American Anti-Imperialist Coalition. It reports on the longshoremen in Baltimore refusing to unload 72 drums of nickel ore from Rhodesia; about 100 picketers from the Washington, D.C. unit of African Liberation Day Movement joined longshoremen of locals 858 and 829 in the protest. The newsletter says Guinea-Bissau is the focus for the fund drive in October; the goal is $2000 for medical and educational projects. MCSA held a panel in July with Anne Crane, long active in MACSA, Bill Scott of Afro-American Studies, and Paul Irish, a student at Oberlin College, Ohio. The newsletter includes information on Community Action on Latin America (CALA); the New World Resource Center; the Chicago Committee for the Liberation of Angola, Mozambique and Guinea (CCLAMG); Black Workers Congress; African Agenda; Southern Africa Liberation Information Group; Dennis Brutus; ICARIS (International Campaign Against Racism in Sport). Avery Brundage; the National Amateur Athletic Union; the Black Economic Research Center; Liberation Support Movement (LSM); the International Longshoremen's Union; the American Committee on Africa (ACOA); Azores; the film Sabotage in South Africa; Venceremos; PAIGC; FREMILO; MPLA; NATO; the Southern Africa Committee; African Agenda; IFCO; and Polaroid.
