Letter from Dennis Brutus to President Jimmy Carter regarding the Davis Cup tennis match in which the United States team will play against a South African team. The letter says the South African Non-Racial Olympic Committee and all South Africans who are opposed to racism in sport call for the cancellation of this event and of all sporting exchanges with South Africa until the sports bodies there are open to all South Africans and all representative teams are selected on merit, regardless of race. The letter calls on President Carter to express his opposition to this event and to call on the United States Tennis Association to heed the resolutions of the United Nations and cease supporting the racist body in South Africa.
