Victory is Certain!

The mailing says Liberation Support Movement is arranging a U.S. speaking tour for Commander José Condesse (nom de guerre: Y. Toka), Central Committee member of the Popular Movement for the Liberation of Angola (MPLA) and Commander of the Third Region (Eastern Angola - an area four times the size of the colonial "mother country", Portugal). The tour will begin in New York on July 18; presently only two other engagements have been arranged - in Seattle and Berkeley. This is an important opportunity to break through the establishment media "cover-up" of national liberation struggles in southern Africa, U.S. support for the Portuguese fascist regime, and U.S. corporate involvement in southern Africa, specifically, Angola. The mailing discusses the inaccuracies of coverage of Angola and Portuguese colonialism by the bourgeois press. The publicity created by the visit of Comrade Toka, plus a little anarchy in the bourgeois press, should provide the opportunity to blow the lie apart. It is also the opportunity for left groups and progressive peoples in North America to establish contacts and meet with a combatant and leader from one of the most significant national liberation movements, to further expose the world-wide imperialist nature of the U.S. and the lies of Roger's "Africa Trip," as well as to support the MPLA and national liberation movements in Africa and elsewhere. The national liberation movements expect solidarity and support (sometimes naively) from comrades. LSM needs money badly to pay for travel expenses and to further plan the most complete itinerary possible through the U.S. and Canada.
