Fundraising mailing signed by Margo Madu, Chairman of Revolutionary Support Committee, Liberation Support Movement (LSM). The mailing says we can’t send the guerrillas grenades, but we can help in resolving one of the problems they face; as one peasant in Angola said, "I help kill the enemy by killing the hunger in the guerrilla's stomach." The Popular Movement for the Liberation of Angola (MPLA) has urgently requested two training books from LSM: (1) 500 copies of a First Aid manual (65 pages) to be used in training programs, carried by guerrillas, and used in the villages, and (2) a Pathology/Obstetrics textbook (180 pages) to be used in the training programs of the Medical Assistance Services of the MPLA. Hundreds of hours of labor have been volunteered by members in the Vancouver Branch and the Information Center of LSM to type (in Portuguese), print, and bind these publications. $265 is needed to ship the first aid manuals, and $600 is needed to print the textbook. The back page of the mailing is an advertisement for the record “Angola: Victory Is Certain!” It was recorded in the liberated zones by members of Liberation Support Movement. A 15 page booklet accompanies the record, with photos, words of the songs, and notes. Large orders can be filled by Paredon Records.
