This mailing to people who have agreed to be a Trustee of the MIT Endowment for Divestment notes that similar alternative endowments are in place or being set up Harvard, MIT, Princeton, Yale, Oberlin, Occidental and Wesleyan. People are asked to sign the final Trust Agreement. On October 15, there will be a signing ceremony; Trustees will meet at 4:00pm in the West Lounge of the Student Center, and the press conference will start at 5:00pm. We will also invite members of the MIT administration, Amnesty International, and the United Negro College Fund. The mailing asks for help finding an accountant or other person familiar with non-profit organizations tax reporting requirements who can assist with filing the initial tax forms and establishing bookkeeping procedures.
