Copy of letter to Sherwood Stewart, United States Davis Cup Team, at the Newport Beach Tennis Club. The Committee for Stop the Davis Cup Match has organized a major demonstration to protest South Africa's participation in the Davis Cup match in Newport Beach. The letter says so long as South Africa continues to exclude individuals from fully participating in sports at all levels of competition on the basis of race, her national teams should not be permitted to compete in international matches. In allowing the South Africans to play in the Davis Cup, the United States Tennis Association is endorsing South Africa's racist sports policies. The letter asks for a meeting between a delegation from our committee and you and your teammates.
